P.E.A. Awards announces 2021 shortlist of climate heroes and changemakers

Winners to be announced at a sensational ‘Fantasy and Futurism’ green-carpet awards ceremony reflecting our potential to create a better world, built in co-creation with nature

With COP26 in Glasgow fast approaching, the P.E.A. Awards in association with Citrix – the UK’s leading sustainability and ethical awards body – announces its shortlist for the green heroes and changemakers of 2021.

Jarvis Smith, founder of the P.E.A. Awards, says: “With treacherous heatwaves, wildfires and floods proliferating across the globe, this is the most important year yet for all sectors of society to commit to radical climate action. As COP26 highlights, we have to act now – the world’s governments, companies and all of us as individuals – to accelerate the green transition.

“Our 2021 shortlist of nominees includes remarkable green visionaries, innovators and trailblazers who are going the extra mile to divert the climate crisis – these are the changemakers and disruptors who show us what we need to do to create a sustainable future.”

Selected by an all-female panel of judges, the shortlist for 2021’s P.E.A. Awards includes environmental champions across 13 categories, ranging from Climate Pioneer, Greenest Family, Influencer and Arts, to EV, Travel, Money and Digital Technology.

Jo Wood, organic beauty pioneer and longstanding P.E.A. judge, says: ”I am so proud to be a judge for the P.E.A. Awards – as a woman that cares so much about the health of our planet and the health of humans, it brings me such joy to see how many are working so hard to find ways for a better, cleaner and more sustainable Earth.”

This year’s winners will be announced at a sensational awards ceremony taking place at the stylish One Marylebone venue in London, W1 on Friday 22nd October, 6-11pm. “With a Fantasy and Futurism theme, the event’s space, nature-infused ambience and food will all be designed to allow us to express ourselves in ways that are not currently perceived as possible,” Jarvis Smith says.

Sustainable food guru, Arthur Potts Dawson – dubbed “The Original Green Chef” by former boss Jamie Oliver – will be creating a sublime three-course, organic vegan dinner for the 300-people futuristic event, accompanied by delicious cocktails, organic wines and beers provided by suppliers of My Green Pod Hero drinks.

Arthur Potts Dawson says: “Food is the most powerful change driver on this planet. Everybody is involved with it, every day, and it’s the choices that we make with food that can fix our future in this world. Food can drive peace, food can slow down the changing climate and food can help us identify with our holistic relationship to this beautiful, amazing home that we all share.”

Other highlights at the spectacular awards event include a speech by Atossa Soltani, founder & board president of Amazon Watch, sharing wisdom and inspiration for creating a brighter, healthier and sustainable future.
