About PEA Awards

Global warming and the depletion of natural resources are among the biggest challenges facing our world today. To avoid the worst-case scenarios we need to take urgent action. Governments and big business will hopefully take vital steps towards safeguarding the environment. In the meantime individuals already making a difference can be our inspiration. The launch of the PEA Awards"in association with The Co-operative" reflects a desire to recognise these people and celebrate their contributions to the green agenda.

Hosted by King Lion Media in association with Green Magazine, this glamorous green carpet awards ceremony honours those who have demonstrated the importance of sustainability.

We wish to celebrate everything from raising awareness, travelling responsibly and proving ethical best practice to creating technologies, designing products and services and developing specific campaigns.

A panel of eminent judges will adjudicate the ceremony with help from the strict criteria outlined for each award.

Friends of the Earth is the official charity partner of the PEA Awards 2012

Judges include: Tony Juniper, editor, Green Magazine; Rebecca Hill, international marketing director, National Geographic magazine; Josephine Fairley, co-founder of Green & Black’s; Leo Johnson, head of sustainability, PwC, Richard Hammond, founder of  greentraveller.co.uk, Jo Wood, founder, Jo Wood Organics and Joe Jenkins, director, Friends of the Earth.
